Here are some helpful hints that I have used and still use to help kick start losing weight! Tip #1 - Cardio in the morning!
Doing cardio in the morning is a great way to start burning calories right away. Next thing it does is it kick starts your metabolism. Most of us who are heavy need to work on increasing our metabolism. One of the ways to do this is exercising. Another thing about early morning cardio is that it wakes you up! Some people seem to think that you'll be too tired to get up and exercise. To those people I say, "B@LL S*#T!" Once you decide to make the commitment and start doing cardio in the morning, your body will start craving it and you will feel so much better throughout the entire day. Tip #2 - Drink more water! Cut out the pop and alcohol and cut back on your coffee consumption. The pop and alcohol contain a lot of unneeded sugar and carbs. And the caffeine in the coffee can hinder your workouts. Tip #3 - Eat more! I know you think I'm crazy, but try eating smaller portions of lean food more often throughout the day. Do this instead of NOT eating and starving yourself. This way you are revving up your metabolism all throughout the day. Your keeping the furnace fueled and burning all day long. Tip #4 - Eat lean foods! Incorporate lean foods like chicken (NOT breaded and NOT deep fried), fish (such as cod, tilapia, tuna (not packed in oil) and salmon. Look at switching to brown rice instead of white (And not "fried rice" you get with Chinese food. Just because it's brown doesn't mean its "BROWN RICE," lol.). Also try sweet potatoes (without the extra brown sugar and marshmallows). They are very tasty without all the extras. One more little food I've switched over to is egg whites instead of the whole egg. I get egg whites in a carton and find them very satisfying in the morning. And one more thing you need to eat is a lot more... VEGETABLES! Lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, otherwise good clean veggies! Tip #5 - GET RID OF ALL THE CRAP IN YOUR HOUSE! If it's bad for you, has no real nutritional value and it's only purpose is to make you fatter, then either donate it to the food pantry or THROW IT AWAY! Get rid of temptation in your own home. Make your house a "safe zone." This is somewhere you can go to get away from all those outside temptations. These are just some of the tips I have for you to help you get on your way with this year's Challenge. Good luck to each and everyone of you! Please stay in touch, share your stories and remember to take some pictures of yourself. Trust me, you might not like what you see right now, but it can really help to keep you motivated toward reaching your goal. :) Have a great day everyone!
